Hal Far Outreach is a non-profit organisation that helps to empower those who seek refuge in Malta, with a specific focus on the people who are residing in and around the Open Centers in Hal Far. Hal Far Outreach aims to foster social inclusion and to improve the terms on which migrants, asylum seekers and refugees in Malta take part in society. Through a range of activities and services, Hal Far Outreach provides the tools and information needed to navigate the complexities of migration and integration in Malta and beyond

On-Site Befriender Facilitator (Closed)


Hal Far Outreach is looking to recruit 3 On-Site Befriender Facilitators for our Malta Migrant Befriending Programme. The role involves aiding the project coordinator in the running of the programme by mainly being present at the planned activities. The candidate is required to start as soon as possible until February 2023. This paid position involves an average of 4 hours a week and interested candidates are required to have their own VAT number. More information may be found below.

Social Media and Graphic Design Coordinator (Closed)

Hal Far Outreach is looking to recruit a Social Media and Graphic Design Coordinator for our Malta Migrant Befriending Programme. The role involves managing the programme’s marketing and social media campaign, as well as attending events to take photos. The candidate is required to start as soon as possible until February 2023. This paid position involves an average of 4 hours a week and interested candidates are required to have their own VAT number. More information may be found below.

Volunteering Opportunities

Fundraiser Volunteer

Hal Far Outreach is recruiting a fundraiser for our Grants & Project Development team. This role requires at least three months commitment to HFO, where the recruited volunteer will be responsible for overseeing campaigns and events to raise money and other kinds of donations for an organization.

Grants Writer

Hal Far Outreach is recruiting a Grant Writer for our Grants & Project Development team. This role requires at least three months commitment to HFO, where the recruited volunteer will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities and draft proposals.

Other volunteer opportunities

Short term volunteers

Hal Far Outreach also recruits short term volunteers depending on it’s needs and ongoing projects. Currently the organisation is looking for individuals willing to form part of the clothing donations and distribution team. We need short term volunteers to sort out the clothes and get them ready to distribute. Hal Far Outreach is also looking for volunteers to help with event and activity planning. These will include social and community activities as well as fundraising events.

At Hal Far outreach we have different initiatives that sometimes require ad hoc tasks that give the opportunity for volunteers with limited dedication time, to come and help sporadically. They are also a great chance for volunteers to have a first approach to volunteering with our team.

HFO will not be responsible for the costs of travel, visa, accommodation, or any other costs related to the placement. All costs connected with a volunteer participation must be borne by the volunteer, including arrangements for travel (including to and from the office), visas, accommodation, etc. Applicants will be solely responsible to secure visas. At the stage of acceptance of vacancy, volunteer must prove to the satisfaction of HFO that they have adequate medical and accident insurance coverage prior to commencing the placement.

Please note that HFO does not charge fees at any stage of the application process.
